Hi all, I’m Thumper, the VP of the Amazons WMC, Inc.  Thought you might find it interesting to learn a little more about me.  I work as an insurance agent down here in Florida.  Been doing that for over 30 years now.  Whoever thought the local insurance agent, a woman, would be riding her own bike, LOL!  I started riding when I was 50 years old.  Kind of old to teach an old dog new tricks, but hey, I got really tired of looking at the back of my husband's helmet!  Let me go back a little in history...

I am originally from Indiana.  I grew up with only about 5 months of decent weather for riding so I never really thought of buying a bike.  Oh, I rode when I was younger, but never owned my own bike.  So moving to Florida and attending Daytona Bike Week the first year we lived here was the deciding factor.  I told my husband then that the following year we would be riding to Bike Week.  Well we were, but on HIS bike.  Didn’t take me long to figure out that I wanted my own.   So for my 50th Birthday, my dear husband bought me a 1996 Honda Shadow 600 VLX.  Sweet bike for a real beginner.  Didn’t take long though till I upgraded to an 03 Honda 750 ACE.  I really enjoyed that bike but I am raising my grandson, Eli.  He loves to ride, but he is ADHD.  Putting a child at age 6 on the back of the Ace wasn’t a problem.  But as he grew older and bigger the realization that it was no fun to worry about him the entire time we rode finally hit home.  It’s really difficult for a child with ADHD to sit still and when you combine that with 100 #’s, well you get the picture.  So I decided to trade in the ACE and bought my 2006 Honda Aero 750 Motortrike so Eli and I can ride anytime we want.

I couldn’t be happier and neither could Eli.  We can ride anywhere and whenever we want now and have loads of fun.

I guess for me, riding my own bike has helped me grow in so many ways.  I have always been pretty independent, but riding my own and taking trips with my Sisters has given me a completely new outlook on life.  I enjoy the open road, the smells in the air that you don’t get in a cage, the wind in my face and even the morning chill in the air.  Riding is my therapy, when things get a little rough with life, I can jump on the trike and blow out the cobwebs so to speak.  May you all have miles of smiles on the road of life.
